Last week it was reportedly shelved, this week The Shire is being rushed to screens.
Channel 10 released a statement this morning announcing it had brought forward the release of the controversial show with plans to air it within the next fortnight.
The move comes just days after it was widely reported that the Sutherland Shire dramality had been bumped from the schedule because of “underwhelming footage”.
A first look promo of the show last night offered viewers a sneak peek at the show's main protagonists the network hopes will soon become household names.
The cast features: "hot surfers, vivacious models, girls next door, on-and-off couples, loveable rogues, and entrepreneurs".
"From their hectic social lives to problems with work and family, The Shire will leave no stone unturned,” the network said. “These are real people, this is real drama, and The Shire is sure to become real addictive!"
But Ten's chief programming officer David Mott admits not everyone will like the show.
“Some will love it, some will hate it, everyone will want to watch it,” he said.
The show will air on Monday July 16 in the same 8pm timeslot as Being Lara Bingle, which has so far failed to rate with viewers.
